Welcome to the CbBio (Computational Biology and Bioinformatics) Group.
The group was originally founded in 2009 at the Institute for Predictive and Personalized Medicine of Cancer (IMPPC) in Badalona, Barcelona, and moved later on 2013 to the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville (IBIS).
CbBio's research interests deal with the evolution, emergence of signaling pathways, and further implications of their components on disease. As model signaling, we focus on DNA Damage Response and RAS signaling. In this line, we also aim to predict precise structure/function mechanisms that govern the functions of proteins involved in the aforementioned pathways. We are also interested on developing methods and contribute to extract knowledge to facilitate the interpretation of large datasets in the context of Biomedicine generated using integrative Biology approaches.
The expertise available in the group:
- Evolutionary analyses.
- Structural Bioinformatics.
- Comparative Genomics.
- Tools and custom methods development.
- Colaborations with experimental groups.
